View Full Version : Netscape version ? cowboy April 7th, 2003, 15:26 PM I'm currently running ver 4.7, and want to upgrade is there a premier version to go to , or one to stay away from ? Big Booger April 7th, 2003, 15:29 PM Well cowboy, I personally wouldn't install netscape, but that is my personal taste. Many users on this board recommend phoenix, mozilla, or Opera, because they are small, fast, and work with nearly every webpage. But if you like netscape, I'd say go with the latest available: 7.02 (download below) http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp Usually the latest have fixed or addressed several bugs, or issues from the previous version. I used 7.0 and thought it worked rather well. Welcome to techzonez! FastGame April 7th, 2003, 17:35 PM Now's the time to try Phoenix, it's great  Oh and Techzonez has the World famous Phoenix skin maker Lynchknot  cowboy April 8th, 2003, 12:00 PM No I have no special attachemnt to NS, although I do use it at work, (assume these other wouldn't be a problem), don't have any attachment to IE either, its that recently I found a few sites that NS had problems with and I had to switch to IE to resolve. OK of the others mentioned which on is the cream of the crop ? Big Booger April 8th, 2003, 12:15 PM Well, I say try them all, find the one that suits you. Lynchknot is our neighborhood Phoenix skinner.. he does some pretty slick themes for Phoenix.. but I think they are all pretty good.. Try them, find the flavor that suits you and tell us why you chose it. :D SupaStar April 8th, 2003, 12:44 PM Originally posted by cowboy its that recently I found a few sites that NS had problems with and I had to switch to IE to resolve. That's the only reason I dropped Netscape and went back to IE. Netscape is quite a good looking and functional browser. I also find it almost twice as quick as IE when visiting most sites. cowboy April 8th, 2003, 15:39 PM Trying Mozilla now, seems to change the appearance of some sites I go to , is thsi normal ? Big Booger April 8th, 2003, 23:44 PM You might need to configure it. I know the fonts might be different, but it is very tweakable. You might notice that the icons in the address bar work now, as opposed to before. Try out the different skins and themes to mozilla, there are quite a few. Then try out Phoenix and Opera. They all have good points and bad points. :p
