I recently started running Mozilla (previously used Netscape)

In netscapet they used to be under Netscape/user/bookmarks .... etc
Looked all around under the Mozilla dir and haven't found them yet...

C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Login Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt\
I think they are there.
:D
If you are using XP and Mozilla. it should be located there...
I got the location from the below document, that is no longer available on the web:
Netscape Bookmarks
If you are currently using Mozilla, Netscape 4, 6, or 7, Phoenix, or Beonex Communicator you are able to make use of your bookmarks in K-Meleon by enabling the "bookmarks" plugin.
Importing the bookmarks file
The way your bookmarks are imported is dependent both on what Mozilla-based browser you want to import the bookmarks of and also on your version of Windows.
Table 6-1. Windows 95, 98, 98 SE, Me Bookmarks
Browser Bookmarks location
Netscape 4.xx C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\PROFILE_NAME\
Netscape 6.x.x, 7.x, & Mozilla C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt
Phoenix C:\Windows\Application Data\phoenix\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt
Beonex Communicator C:\Windows\Application Data\beonex\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt
Table 6-2. Windows NT 4.0 Bookmarks
Browser Bookmarks location
Netscape 4.xx C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\PROFILE_NAME\
Netscape 6.x.x, 7.x, & Mozilla C:\Winnt\Profiles\<user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\<profile name>\*.slt
Phoenix C:\Winnt\Profiles\<user name>\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\<profile name>\*.slt
Beonex Communicator C:\Winnt\Profiles\<user name>\Application Data\Beonex\Profiles\<profile name>\*.slt
Table 6-3. Windows 2000 & XP Bookmarks
Browser Bookmarks location
Netscape 4.xx C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\PROFILE_NAME\
Netscape 6.x.x, 7.x, & Mozilla C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Login Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt\
Phoenix C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Login Name]\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt\
Beonex Communicator C:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Login Name]\Application Data\Beonex\Profiles\PROFILE_NAME\[random string].slt\
After you have found the correct directory, highlight the file bookmark.html (NS 4) /bookmarks.html (NS 6/7Moz/Phoenix/Beonex), as shown below:

There are a few Bookmarks that will help you become familiar and get the most out of Mozilla.

Thanks for the tips ,
I'll look into them, I'm on information overload right now.
I'm running Windows 2000 professional.
So where are they again ? :)

Found em here;
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default .... but there is a default-1 folder that has the bookmark too ?

I haven't a clue.. :D
Perhaps default 1 is the one you created when you started adding bookmarks.

Anyone know why my BM don't appear in the same order as
they are on the toolbar vs when viewing 'manage bookmarks' ?

When you are in the Bookmarks Manager click on View to find 10 different sort choices.

Duh, guess I should have looked around first. although I
don't see how to organize by "organization" i.e. the way they are on the toolbar ?

Hmmm seems to be working now, tried unsorted and "as added"
p.s. how does 'Tabs" fit into this ?

I don't understand what you mean about tabs. Please clarify your question.
General information about tabs. Click on a link with your scroll wheel to open a page in a tab. You can continue to open additional tabs using the same method. Once the tabs are open, you can move from tab to tab without the need to download the page again. It is very fast to move from tab to tab. You can save a group of tabbed pages as a bookmark. You cannot open a page as a tab by scroll wheel click of a bookmark unless it has been saved as a group of tabs.
