Getting a new HDD for my Server PC..
need help with which one is the best bang for the YEN:
6Y120L0
DiamondMaxPlus9シリーズ/120GB/7200rpm/9ms/2MB/流体軸受けモデル/プラッタ80GB
YEN12,780 (税別)
6Y120P0
DiamondMax 9シリーズ/120GB/7200rpm/9ms/8MB/26.1mm/流体軸受け
YEN13,980 (税別)
6Y160L0
DiamondMax 9シリーズ/160GB/7200rpm/9ms/2MB/26.1mm/流体軸受け
YEN17,680 (税別)
6Y160P0
DiamondMaxPlus9シリーズ/160GB/7200rpm/9ms/バッファ 8MB/ATA133/流体軸受けモデル
YEN19,380 (税別)
These are the choices above.
I want the 200 or 250GB models, but they are far too expensive, one is around YEN25000 and the other is YEN45000
Too much :D
Care to tell me which you think is the best size to YEN ratio?

What is the normal YEN to $ exchange rate?

I would go with the 120 6Y120P0 right now. They ae usually your best dollar (or in your case Yen) to gig ratio.
The 120 also has a 8MB buffer (i am assuming that is what the 8MB is) so it will also cache and access the data a bit quicker than the other 120. Also, for almost a 700yen jump to the 160 with the 8MB buffer, it's a bit expensive.

1 dollar = 120.33 JPY

:p
Stripe,
that is pretty much what I was figuring too. Any other comments?
Thanks

I don't know how you could go wrong with any of these choices. Good prices also.

EFC brings up a good point. Also, I've never heard of the DiamondMaxPlus9. Are they good drives? Have you looked at product reviews? Ratings? that sort of stuff?

Yep BB that's the one to get :) then send your old drive to Phishhead or Lynchknot & your new drive will have Good Karma, just like mine
J/K prolly cost more to send from Japan than HD cost...

I will format it with two partitions,

One for the OS and files.
the other for backup purposes :D
Until I get a second one.

I'll be ordering this drive tonight when I return home from work. :D
