how do you get rid of the windows version numbers on the bottom right of your screen, i tryed Xteq, it only shows me whats their and wont let me change it,

THat is exactly how I am running windows Longhorn now, with a predominantly white background.. can't even see the build :D But I always know it is there. I wished there was a way to remove it, as it is very annoying.. it would also be nice just to edit it.. I am sure if you had the time and information, you could hunt it down and edit it.. but as this is just an pre-alpha, I am not going to even try :P Well, if I find anything about this, I will definitely post it. Try this but back up the Registry first or at least save the keys that will be changed/deleted! This message is placed on the desktop when some of the betas of service pack 1 were installed. Generally it was accepted that people should restore back to the point prior to applying the beta before they applied the next beta or final service pack. The text can be removed manually if you wish. Open regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\ROOT\Certificates and delete the folder under it: 2BD63D28D7BCD0E251195AEB519243C13142EBC3 Then go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\CA\Certificates and delete the folder under it: FEE449EE0E3965A5246F000E87FDE2A065FD89D4
