Price is good through July 7, 2003
Dalco Electronics (http://www.dalco.com/)
I have an account with this company. It a good company to deal with. They answer the phone. You can ask compatibility questions and they stand behind their products.
This is the place to go to find the hard to locate part or cable.
phishhead July 1st, 2003, 16:43 PM wow thats a sweet deal
Thor July 1st, 2003, 16:45 PM Congratulations on the promotion. That's a good buy.
Dehcbad25 July 2nd, 2003, 00:03 AM Wow, it looks like an amazing deal. Humm, I wonder if I should be buying this case or not. It looks good to make a medium good PC, right??
Conan July 2nd, 2003, 02:43 AM Looks real good on the outside, but for 40 bucks it comes with a power supply?
Dehcbad25 July 2nd, 2003, 02:57 AM that is why I said medium (not anything fancy) good (it just look good in the outside) ;)
The quality should be similar to those PCs that you buy at Walmart :p , but it will look much better
efc July 2nd, 2003, 12:34 PM That is a 400 watt power supply, not a 300watt. Lots of bays. You should be able to build a system that dims the neighbors lights when you turn it on. :D
I encourage others to sign up for their email promotions. At least, once a month there is a stand out item included in the email. That is the way I buy from them, I sit bach a wait for the sale.
cash_site July 3rd, 2003, 05:47 AM Looks like a good deal, Zipp was trying to get me a good deal on some Lian Li cases - big issues is trying to send package to Australia, LOL, shipping costs more than package. Do they ship to Australia?? Looks good though.
FastGame July 3rd, 2003, 05:52 AM My buddy sells them at his PC shop...don't get one :( saw them today, he says PS is not very good .
They look good though :)

On a short vacation this week, but just made a note to call my account manager. They are actually in Calif,so I don't know if it closer to the east coast of Australia. It's late and I don't have my geography smarts turned on.:D
cash_site July 3rd, 2003, 07:21 AM ZIpp: CA is a little closer than East coast. How much would the shipping be... if the case+shipping is within budget then it would be a good deal.
Otherwise, I will just have to search out the pc warehouses here in Aus.

Hey cash site,I checked on that case and unfortunatley it would not be worth it because of the shipping cost.I wish it were otherwise, sorry.
zErO July 4th, 2003, 17:03 PM Looks similar to a Skyhawk case, still looks very cool
cash_site , checkout this site for Lian Li cases and other cool products.;)

Dehcbad25 July 4th, 2003, 20:14 PM If that case has a bad PSU I think that for 39 still is good. Just buy another PSU at CompUSA but the final price will go to 40. I nver buy cases with PSU anyways, I don't trust in them :D
cash_site July 5th, 2003, 01:56 AM Thanks Zero for that link, actually they are pretty close to where I live :D So it was a great help, and they have some amazing stuff.
Im sure I will be getting stuff from there very soon ;)
Lian Li case... HSF... etc ... :D
SupaStar July 5th, 2003, 07:26 AM There are a number of suppliers in Australia that stock Lian Li cases. I'll e-mail you some names and numbers :)
No need to purchase from OS.

Thanks SupaStar, I think its time we get new cases, the sticky tape holding the cards is starting to fail LOL
Maybe a second hand Lian Li will do? around $100, not going to spend more than that - its just a case. Rather spend a bit more on the 9800 Pro or FX5900 Ultra 256mb :D

Sounds like a plan ;)
zErO July 6th, 2003, 03:48 AM Hope you find a place to get a Lian Li case from cash_site, you will enjoy the quality and benifits of a good case;)
Dehcbad25 July 6th, 2003, 07:33 AM Not just a case. Man, the case is the body of your computer :p
If it is your main computer, I suggest a GOOD case. I am so happy with my case. I had in my first computer the case it came with (eMachines) then I build myself a PC but I used a bundle, so I didn't have much choice, but some in the case, and I was happy with the case, since it was spacious and easy to work with. But now I stopped buying parts, since I consider I have all I need, so I went to revamp the exterior, and I am EXTREMELY happy with the new case. Since it is Aluminium it is lighter. Also the temperatures dropped, and with it the rpms of the fans. Not only that, with my new case it is a lot easier to work with drives. The whole case is screwless. Plenty of space, and best of all, I don't have a single cut in my hands because of working in the PC. There was a time I had alcohol handy everytime I worked in the PC. SERIUSLY!!!!
Then the other change I am happy with was the PSU. That decreased the noise level a lot. So much that the sound activated led that I installed, won't lit up unless I am talking ;)
Both, case and PSU are parts that you will re-use over and over.
And I have to admit, the PSU is the most expensive part in my PC. REALLY!!
cash_site July 7th, 2003, 05:07 AM hey dehc, what are some things to look for when purchasing a PSU, I read somewhere that you can get two 400W PSUs, but they could have different Amps for the volts ??
Dehcbad25 July 7th, 2003, 23:28 PM You know what?? I don't know in specification what to look for a PSU. But I can tell you as a rule of thumb, too cheap is NOT GOOD. The reason is because the PSU has different materials, but the metals increase the value, so depending in how pure (hence quality) the metal is, how good the PSU is.
A good advice is to stay with known brands
Here is a review and comparason of 15 power supply that Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20030609/index.html) did. It will give you a good guideline to follow. I didn't read it complete myself. Too long for my time :P
Antec are good, and are well known with 3 years warranty.
THG also recomends in that article Fortron and Zalman, but I haven't use any of them.
I hope this helps :D
cash_site July 8th, 2003, 06:01 AM thanks dehc, the article explained a few things to me, and what to look for, and some features too.
efc July 8th, 2003, 20:48 PM Price on computer case extended through july 14.
