Friend's XP Problem

Hey guy's

My friend just phoned me asking for my assistance on a problem that had just accured on his Windows XP.

Well i looked at it, and instantly noticed it's a problem that has been shouted about before on one XP forum or another so it most be common and a well acknoledged problem by now, so i thought my only hope was to ask here ;)

It's the "Common Tasks" bar that's found on the left hand side of open Windows, but instead, permantly stuck on the left hand side of the Desktop as well.

I have determained that this problem might actually be a Windows XP feature that got accidently activated and i have no clue how to de-activate it.

I tried everything to turn it off, but no go, maybe it's a bug, my friend has his Windows XP bang up to date with all the patchs.

I hope someone was around when the person that complained about this problem before was there to hear the answer, because i'm all out of idea's :D

Click on the "Remove common tasks from desktop" link

Btw - Does anyone know what actually causes this problem in the 1st place?

Gimie you are not to stupid, just not quite updated yet. I do not think there is an update for "smarter operator" on MSN boards yet. If someone should find it however please let the rest of us in on it..........:spaced:
