A security issue has been identified in Microsoft® Data Access Components (MDAC) that could allow an attacker to compromise a Microsoft Windows®-based system and then take a variety of actions, including executing code. By installing this update, you can help protect your computer.

Note Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is a collection of components used to provide database connectivity on Windows platforms. The components provide the underlying functionality for a number of database operations. You should apply this update if you run any of the affected software above.
