I have made some screenshots of my remote Linux nomachine NX desktop running RHL 8.0 and KDE 3.1.
Here's my first one, Really nice and note I was trying to make a Windows 2000 like desktop.
You can comment as much as you want on these shots!
And I'm new so this is my grand welcome I can say

Welcome to Techzonez ViperSnake.
Could you please reduce the size of your sig.
The max allowed dimensions are 360 X 100,as detailed next to the sig box in the usercp.
(Maximum dimensions 360 x 100 pixels,and 80kb in file size.)
Thanks,and enjoy your stay. ;)

Now time for shots with bad raves!
This is a style I call RedCurve. The bluecurve style didn't match the name of the OS so I changed it all to red

The first looks like the default KDE with a few icon changes and the Blue CUrve wallpaper.
The second looks ok, but I am not a fan of red too much.
I should post my Mandrake screenie. In fact, I think I will.

Really thats the Windows 2000 KDE Icon theme and the crystal background (I could not find a Windows 2000 Wallpaper so that has to do)

Now here's Crystal Orange. It's just bluecurve with a orange scheme and Crystal icons colorized

I think KDE styles look good, so I wouldn't tried to make them look 2K, but if you want to do so, I think there is a way to reduce the taskbar, so it looks like W2K style. Not sure since I haven't used KDE for a while. I am currently using Window Maker instead.

Below, there is a link to my Mandrake screenie. Using the Platinum Style with foood's Icons and a wallpaper I got from themexp.org.

And if you want a windows 2000 wallpaper, might I suggest the following:

Good! (Now do you know where I can get a Windows 2000 window decoration? I can't find one at KDE-Look.org)

There is one for KDE 2.1. Now if you know someone who can port it over to 3.1 then you'd be all set.
:D
Unfortunately I don't know how to do that, so I cannot help you there, but that should get you started in the right direction.
And if you want the look and feel:
http://www.kdelook.org/content/preview.php?file=133-1.png
That has the folder icons, windows 2000 tree view etc..
But you'll need to port it over from 2.2.2 to KDE3.1 to use it.
