I'll be going tomorrow for my written test.. so I can have the points taken off my license and so I don't get them taken away for 30 days..

I can't wait. I am excited NOT!
:D

In case you're wondering the procedure is very similar to what happened to this guy:

When I was young I had a terrible driving record. In the first year that I drove at 16 yrs old I had 5 accidents, the last one of which totalled my 59 chevy bel-air.My insurance was placed in a risk pool which meant I was paying $1100/yr for car insurance in 1968.In 1970 I was real bad and had 6 accidents with charges ranging from speeding, malicious destruction of private property,to reckles driving and driving to endanger.I lost my license for 2 years. To make a long story short,I was in the military during those years and when I got out had to go to court to get a new license.Never had to take the test again like they do today.Without boring you with the rest of my (my fault)tickets,it took me till my wife and I had a child in 1982 before I started taking my foot off the gas.I have the best points you can have for insurance so I get the best deals now.I even fasten my seat belt everytime I drive thanks to my daughter's insistance when she first learned to talk.
Good luck BB,remember that they got you by the short hairs when it comes to following the road rules.

Thanks gents.

I leave in 5 minutes. Will let you know how it turns out. :D

And imagine, doing 57, in a 45. That is a major speeding violation here.

In the states it would be a simple ticket, and I'd be done.
:D

Well reporting live from the testing center. Morning 2 hours, lecture lecture lecture. At lunch now, they have 5 PCs setup so road rule breakers can surf and check email. :D

Afternoon session I take a road type test, which is a series of psychological tests that judge my driving type. Also I get to use a driving simulator to judge how well I drive under duress. I am looking forward to that because the guy said it would be better than any game arcade you have been to. :D

Well have a good one.

Well I am back. I got my license back. I had a 40 question test after the driving simulation. It was kind of fun. The car was a Mitsubishi 4 door taxi car that you drove on the simulator. It had seat belts, wipers, headlights, ignition with key (key was tied with a cable to the dash???), they had the choice of manual or automatic. I chose automatic.

We had 3 minutes of practice time. I drove around the little town, and a lady in the computer would say turn right, turn left, stop here, park here, etc...

Then I had 4 tests to determine my driving attention span?? or something to that effect. One test I remember clearly was you're at an intersection and a truck on the opposite side of the road facing you flashes his lights for you to make a right turn..

Well you turn, and then a motorcycle comes zooming around the passenger side of the truck.. and smash.. hits you.. FAILED TEST LOL

It got me.. I was shocked out of my wits.

Interesting day to say the least but now I am bushed.. and my poor wife had to go too.. to translate.. I feel sorry for her, so tomorrow I am going to get a dozen roses for her.. and something nice.
:D

Good job BB less stress now I'll bet.Now all you have to do is put a throttle regulator on the throttle cable and adjust it so it's impossible to speed.:D

BB - Now that your ordeal is over, I am going to tell a humorous incident that happend when I moved to Texas in 1990. My job required relocation every 2 to 3 years so a new drivers license was required each time we moved. On every move the process required that we take a written exam.

The history had been that I would consistantly out-score my wife. That was good for my ego but not for hers. On the move to Texas, we could not go to the testing facility together. My wife went first and missed only one question on the test.

When I finally found time to go, I had a very bad day. In fact, had I missed one more question, I would have failed the test. When the trooper had finished scoring the exam, I told him of the compecition between me and my wife. He grinned and reached for a blank test, took the key and marked all of the questions with the right answer, then marked 100 at the top. He then handed that test to me and said, "Welcome to Texas".

Great story, EFC! No wonder Bush had the Enron scandal.

So how did the wife take it?:p

Not well. I cannot be sure whether it was the exam or me asking how she answered the questions about the intricacies of parking a broom. I always did like to live dangerously. :D
