Just wondering if you have ever met or dated someone over the internet?
I've never done it but I think it'd be interesting to find out your experience or at least your take on the cyber dating scene.

About 5 years ago before I met my current sweetheart.I had Aol and this lady from the bank I was using to build my house asked me to IM her and we ended up dating once.I took her to see the Nutcracker in Boston, she was from Maine. In short, she was very nice but lived much too far away,I didn't persue it.I corresponded with a few women looking for someone closer to my location, but the ones with the hot pics got scooped up for long term relationships.I didn't meet my present lady online however.

A good friend of mine says he has better success online, than in real life because he can talk to the girls without the pressure of looking studly etc...
He recently hooked up with another girl and I just can't believe it. This is like the 13th girl he has met online. A couple of them were psycho, they called him all the time, visited him at work, etc..
But for the most part they were plain jane girlies.
:D
AOL should be nicknamed LoveConnection.

Never meet a person online. When I was an AOL user in my heydays (yes, I admit, I used AOL  ), there was a girl in Indiana that wanted to me come out and see her. Never did.
I've talked to my girlfriends online....does that count?

Dating over the internet is very safe. You cannot pick up any virus - like aids and such. If the date does not go well you can just "BRB" and leave.

Now another take,
Anyone been cyber stalked before? How bad did it get? Is it ongoing even now? What was the situation. Share your story so we can learn how to not get trapped into this.

I just read this now :p Always late.
My ex girlfriend I met her personally, and we excahnged email address. After I came back from my vacation (that's when I met her) we started chatting and after a month chatting every day we started dating. Well, actually we officially said that we were boyfriend and girlfriend. She was a great girl, but her parents took it very bad, and after I went back to see her, we decided to end up because her parents were driving her crazy. We had to cyber-date hiding from them :p
My current girlfriend is also from Arg. and I use IM to keep in touch. If we think that I have been dating her for 3 months and I have actually seen her a little over 2 weeks. Does that count??
PS: Noooo, I am not a loser and only date online ;) I am just extremely picky

I've never dated over the net. Chatted with a few hotties on Yahoo chat, when i was in high school. That was fun because back then no one knew much about chatting, web and voice chat were not an option, and there was no moderation. It was the wild west of cyber conversation.. now it is polluted.

That is not fair :D
I have a friend who proposed to his girlfriend at her work. They made her go to the conference room with the excuse of a important meeting was going on. Once she entered the conference room there was the local radio covering, and her boyfriend waiting to propose while the whole state could listen to it. Of course I miss it because I was working :p
