I did not like how the aqua system files disabled the option of using category view in control panel and other dialogs as well - so I made my own out of 2 different shell32.dll's. :mbike:

Hey I've been looking for something like that...

Where would one get this modified shell32.dll? ;)

Please, make sure you back up your shell32.dll before replacing it. If you want to use an app that makes it much easier use "Replacer" I'll go look for the url for ya in a minute. e*dit - http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/

using replacer, you don't have to boot into safe mode or anything. It will copy files, and backup for you.

Let me know when you get this. It is too large for me to leave it on server. It's 4mb in rar (19.5mb) (give it a few it's still loading)

I have also included these avi's in the shell but I might change them to more colorful aqua avi's soon. -*edit - yeah, hold on - i'm going to replace them right now and repost when done.

Ok new shell32 is uploading now - give it 5 minutes or so. This is one of the new avi's i changed. I uploaded new shell, rebooted and everything runs perfectly - no issues.

Yesterdays windows update wiped out the old version shell32.dll so I made a brand new one with the latest shell. If you want it, it is the same url above. I'm using it now and there are no issues at all - works perfectly.
