Some may think it's weird but I eat seaweed every day - plain or with breakfast on toast or muffin.

Cow's tongue.

Here they call it gyu tan(short 'a' sound). It is very good. They serve it with lemon and pepper and it is sliced thinly.

I have eaten Armadillo, Eel (VERY GOOD ONE, and very tasty), snake. For breakfast I used to eat rice, with a little of Mayo, and Soysauce, and small white fish (dried). Maybe BB knows what are the fish name. I liked that a lot.
If I think of anything else I let you know ;)

Is it a tazukuri dish:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~fy7y-hys/tazukuri.jpg

or

a chirimen dish:

http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~fy7y-hys/chirimen.jpg

:D

I don't particularly like both.. too fishy.. but sometimes I eat them. Especially the chirimen style fish.

We have a great tasting dish here called "Sisig". It's pigs ears and face I think but it's all chopped up into small bits with onions and egg served on a sizzling plate. It's the best companion to a bottle of San Miguel! Have you tried this one Phish?:D

Conan,
That sounds like Souse meat:

SOUSE MEAT

Cook hog head and ears well done, pull meat off bones, mash fine. Add salt to taste, 1 1/2 cups vinegar, red, black pepper and sage to taste. Refrigerate overnight.

Minus the eggs. Souse meat is pretty good.. but it looks disgusting.

Hehe...I do :D

The strangest thing I've eaten would prob be kangaroo. It's actually really nice. Just like a big steak. Fairly lean too, but it's got to be cooked medium-rare. Mmmmm

Goes down well with a few beers...speaking of which, San Miguel is the reason I got up so late today :D

I have tried buffalo, emu and most anything that can be hunted here in Ontario. Most of it I found disgusting.
When I was a kid, I used to sneak back to the pet department at Woolco and eat the dog chocolates lol! I guess I didn't get out much.

yes I too have eaten Kangaroo, its sort of like venison and 'game' meat? Hey Kelli do they eat Moose in Canadia?

Oh, also eaten crocodile... that is really tasty, just like sweet chicken. Anyone from Florida eaten gators?

misskellibad1
October 27th, 2003, 18:19 PM
Yes, some do. Not for me. I tried and too gamey and tough, of course any meat like that has to be well marinated. Probably egg eats moose, he's closer to them than I am.

egghead

no mouse moose or deer for the eggster.

only ham eggs, chicken, turkey, beef. salmon, oysters, shrimp, prawns, tuna and milk for me.

How about semen? Anyone eat any semen before? You want to hear about this one?

There was a Chinese medicine I tried once. Ingredients were mostly herbal but there was some kind of semen in the ingredients. Maybe bull semen, monkey semen or some kind of flower semen - I don't know.:p

So...Mr. Lynchknot...did you take the medicine more than once??

lynchknot
October 28th, 2003, 18:07 PM
lol. Unfortunately, I did not read the label in the first place until after the first and only pill. It was supposed to relieve some ailment, I forgot, maybe it worked on the first installment - :D

Actually, I believe is was some botanical "semen" as the Chinese may reference it that way.

BTW rik, that isn't some "perky" curiousity on your part is it? I hope not. Sorry to let you down, if it is. - lol - j/k

Man all this started over egghead's dislike of beaver :msnunsure

Hey lynch were those pill's little oblong & black ? I had some black pills from China that had a bunch of semen's in them, I didn't take them and took my chance on death from an ailment ;)

lynchknot
October 28th, 2003, 21:54 PM
lol You guys are too much...and ....er maybe a little too "curious" for my comfort. The pills were black but I doubt there was any "semen" as we know it. I'm thinking, since Chinese medicine is mostly botanical....herbal, that they use the term, "semen" to indicate pollen or the like. Yeah, that's the ticket.......... :p

hey egg/rik, stop testing the water. We are geographically undesireable among other other things. Besides rik, I don't think you would want to ride b*tch on my scooter would ya?

sperm and penis are used in many medicinal formulas to cure a rash of skin ailments.

i hear it is best to use fresh ingredients ;)

I am so laughing with you zipp, very witty!

Seriously though, they're's nothing wrong with a man tasting semen, no one's asking you to drink a gallon of the stuff, but if it happened to touch your lips vicariously in the heat of the moment, what I ask you is wrong with that?!

You're right egg, this thread is getting more entertaining by the minute

I used to do my shopping at safeway in San Jose, each time i came out to carpark, these mexicans would always ask if i wanted "tomalez" (?)... One time I said 'yeah, i'll give it a go'...

Man this was horrid, made me sick like that pumpkin!! I knew something was wrong when the mexicans were laughing at me  I guess them selling it from the trunk of the car, and in dirty trash buckets. Oh well

So I got to thinking about the weirdest thing, and while cow's tongue is weird some of you have eaten it..

So now I think natto is also one of the weirdest/nastiest foods I have ever eaten:
http://www.ynest.com/peng005.gif

It is slimey, stinky, sticky, and makes you want to gag every time you eat it. It is fermented soybeans that have set sometimes for years.. and rotted. It is very heathly but smells like rotten crotch and funky feet.. Imagine sewage meets beans and you got natto in a nutshell.

:D

egghead
October 30th, 2003, 23:57 PM
does it make you fart?

Dehcbad25
October 31st, 2003, 00:29 AM
I think natto will make you fart REALLY bad. I had tried that and I agree with BB. Man, my ex loved that, but after trying that I made the rice with small fish my favorite for breakfast.
There is also a kind of fruit that is nasty. It is left in salt water. What is the name BB??
BTW BB that is a disgusting picture :p Seeing it personally is better. now half of TZ won't even want to try it.
I know that in china you can eat dog. Humm maybe that is what happened to my dog ;)
@ Mikelli I understand your point, thought that scene it is very difficult for me to imagine (I am such an Innocent person)
I wonder what would it taste like. salty, sweet, spicy, savor??
Maybe Lynch can describe. After all we have been describing how this foods taste :p

Jumping to the other extreme. I just remembered that I love Katsudon (or Gatsudon???) which is more or less breaded pork chop fried with onions and serve with an egg on top.

AHH I also ate an oyster soup that was one of the most horrible things I tasted in my life. I had never eaten oyster before (and never will now) and I accepted a plate of soup from my ex father. At the begining it was ok. After 5 minutos I felt like hundred of ants digginf in my nouse and throath. Ohh man, not even brushng my teeth and using moth wash could take away that feeling and taste. My ex was very sorry that the first time I tried oyster was her father's soup. Nobody in the house likes it :p
