I have recently gotten interested in "skinning" my XP and am currently using StyleXP which I really like. I have also tried Window Blinds with most of it's inherent packages like Icon Packager, and I like some of their features also.

I guess my question at this point is, What do you guys use and prefer?

I don't use an app to "hack" windows themes.
Use this reg hack to enable themes - It allows uncertified .msstyle files to be applied to the system.
Patching the uxtheme.dll does the same thing as stylexp without using a third party app

Patch For SP1: http://www.neowin.net/downloads/uxtheme_v101.zip

I use Iconpackager to change some system icons and Microangelo to change some individual icons.

I'm using the mods that lynch did (lynch is our resident theme creator :D ).

I use StyleXP for themes, MicroAngelo for icons, and visit themexp.org frequently.

Got this message when trying to access that link.

"You don't have permission to browse this directory or file you requested"...

I believe I found the same file at LightStar (http://www.lightstar1.com/install.htm)

I think you need to go to folder options and change protect windows system files or something like that and I also think you need to be in safe mode. dont have xp infront of me now to look.

I love StyleXP. Easy to setup and use. It patchs the uxtheme.dll automatically I believe.

I use Flyakite to change all icons and sounds etc. .msstyles as "themes"
Avedesk to run some desklets, I also use konfabulator in the same purpose as AveDesk :)

Sometimes I use Aquadock too, but not very often anymore
