So you have their free account right? You can block up to 100 spammers...

After that you just have to keep accepting the spam...

WHY IN TH HELL DON'T they allow unlimited spam blocking.. it only takes the load off their servers.... I don't get it... the more you block the less they have to store, the less stress on the entire system, and the faster legitimate mail can travel through the WWW to your inbox...

Anyone care to postulate an opinion as to why they limit the number of blocked spam to 100 or so???

that option is worth $5 to someone like yourself Boogs ;)

That to them is better than nothing to a shareholder point of view

Yeah, but surely spammers cost them more than 5 bucks a month per user. I get 100-300 spam messages on yahoo daily..

That has to cost money, bandwidth, time etc.... I wonder if they contribute to spam.. I usually don't get many yahoo based ads at all....

How much does 1 spam message cost an email service anyway? That I would really like to know so that I can put it into perspective.

I think Hotmail also has a limitation on how many addresses you can block. It's really all about making you upgrade to "Premium" services.

All these companies are in it for the easy money, how can Hotmail go from 2mb account (free) to 25mb + for $19.95 plus spam filter...

I agree that spam filters should be free, as it decreases Interent traffic etc ??

One thing though, since new spam laws passed, i have been getting less and less spam daily, from 25/day to less than 5/day :D
