phishhead June 10th, 2002, 22:00 PM can't believe we have 332 members! That's great but why do we only have like 10 posting c'mon guys and gals don't be shy...join in our fun of b-days, newborns, and BB's turd sites you're missing out on all the fun:spam2:
Tinker June 11th, 2002, 02:22 AM Give this man a :msnstar: .. Never noticed it before but you are right Phishhead... Posting is fun and that is how us folks get to know you and visa versa :D We here at TECHZONEZ want our members to fell welcome. There are many categories to chose from and if you do not see one that fits your topic do a post in the General section to see if it would be possible to have one. It can not hurt to ask.. Anyway jump in there and have fun...
phishhead June 11th, 2002, 04:40 AM let me ask you guys do the regulars of this community give off the impression that we do not want any feed back to the threads or that you are not welcome in any of our discussions because if you feel that way...well you're wrong I would love to hear from anyone like they said more heads are better than one. or just let me know if i'm being a bit paranoid. I just see the same people posting and with 333 members we should be getting slammed with posts. also if any new members have any problems spit it out that's how we all became pals by figuring out Bill's new OS.:hide:
FastGame June 11th, 2002, 05:19 AM I don't understand it myself , we have some members here who are also at another forum. They said hi Revered you have a nice place when they joined...yet we haven't heard from them since. I see that they have questions posted at the other forum and some have gone a day or two before a response and the funny part is that Reverend or Tinker were the one's who fixed their problem , heck they could of come here for Tink or Rev.
Maybe it's too happy here ? :)
Big Booger June 11th, 2002, 07:52 AM in time gents, like all good things it just needs some time.
BB:msnsmile:

zErO June 13th, 2002, 10:12 AM We are doing okay:thumbsup:
In the short amount of time this board as been up we have grown extremely quickly, and continue to do so. Even thou it may seem to be the same people contiually posting in time that will change as the forum grows:)
Post it and they will come........ ;)
egghead November 10th, 2004, 19:56 PM wow!!!
this thread is 2 years old!!!!
hotmale November 10th, 2004, 20:12 PM this thread is 2 years old!!!! :eek:It took me a few moments to realize that. I was confused about phish saying we have 332 members :p
but why do we only have like 10 posting Now, we have almost 8000 members, but the same problem: around 15 are posting only :(

Yes, dear, but it's quality over quantity.
hotmale November 10th, 2004, 23:29 PM Yes, dear, but it's quality over quantity.:) I agree, but wouldn't be nice as well if TZ had like a million posts? It would be one of the biggest forums on the net.
Reverend November 10th, 2004, 23:35 PM :) I agree, but wouldn't be nice as well if TZ had like a million posts? It would be one of the biggest forums on the net.And who's to say we won't be one of the biggest in the future.
But as Pia said "quality over quantity".
Plus we've pruned thousands of threads and posts. No point in keeping a load of old stuff just to make the forum stats look good.

You're so smart when you agree with me. ;)
rohitk89 November 11th, 2004, 02:50 AM oh i wanted to say this for a long time...i heard abt other forums frm this place like msfn and all... and i dont think im wrong in saying that tz is by far the friendliest and coolest forum on the web today....tz rocks...
and i agree with pia- "quality over quantity"....
hotmale November 11th, 2004, 05:38 AM And who's to say we won't be one of the biggest in the future.I hope so :D
You're so smart when you agree with me. ;)
:p
tz is by far the friendliest and coolest forum on the web todayI have visited other forums and most of them are very unwelcoming. TZ is the best.
phishhead November 11th, 2004, 08:20 AM thanks hotmale now who dug this out of the closet? ;)
Conan November 11th, 2004, 11:47 AM thanks hotmale now who dug this out of the closet? ;)
Egghead. :D
phishhead November 11th, 2004, 12:54 PM I figured this would've been pruned with boogers DB fixing. ;)
egghead November 11th, 2004, 14:20 PM i was lurking through the pits of tz's forum goldmines and really thought hard about not trying to bump every old post we have.
this one got the best of me as it's 2 years old and we have the same sorta thing with only a few regular posters.
quality over quantity has been coming up a lot more lately, hmm
piaqt November 11th, 2004, 14:45 PM and i agree with pia- "quality over quantity"....
Another genius! :p
Watch out everyone, egg is getting sentimental.
Yeah--soft-boiled. As to the rest, mais d'accord!
Reverend November 11th, 2004, 14:46 PM As it says under your avatar Pia:
She who must be obeyed
Watch out everyone, egg is getting sentimental. :msncry: :)
phishhead November 11th, 2004, 14:50 PM quality over quantity has been coming up a lot more lately, hmm
well gotta say that alot of the newer members have been contributing more and more each day.
Reverend November 11th, 2004, 14:57 PM Remember we have a lot of lurkers. So even if they don't post,at least they find our topics interesting enough to stick around. ;)
hotmale November 11th, 2004, 17:14 PM Another genius! :pAnd I agree with you too :D
Rex Mundi November 12th, 2004, 11:04 AM I think this forum has a great community and the number of people actively posting is not out of proportions, for which im glad. I hate forums where there can be like 800 users online (believe me, they exist).
hotmale November 12th, 2004, 13:17 PM I hate forums where there can be like 800 users online (believe me, they exist).I think I know what you mean. I once left a post on a forum and the next day I couldn't find it! After searching for a while, I figured out that so many posts had been made since my last visit, my post ended up on the third page
cash_site November 18th, 2004, 04:52 AM I think I know what you mean. I once left a post on a forum and the next day I couldn't find it! After searching for a while, I figured out that so many posts had been made since my last visit, my post ended up on the third page
Did anyone actually reply to your post?
Cool forum though :D and its coolness starts from the top
joshsiao November 18th, 2004, 16:11 PM I think I know what you mean. I once left a post on a forum and the next day I couldn't find it! After searching for a while, I figured out that so many posts had been made since my last visit, my post ended up on the third page :eek:One BIG example: The Steam Forums http://www.steampowered.com/forums
In the release of HL 2, you'll see that the forums are down saying that it could'nt handle the stress and is resting. I figure becasue they anticipated they release will cause an astronomical number of people to post, they shut it down to prevent their server, vbulletin and database from crashing.
Well the people who I see really posting to inform and reply are: Big Booger, Reverend, lynchknot, Conan, phishhead, egghead, SupaStar, cash_site, rik, fastgame, Dechbad25, efc, Stripe, Tinker, zipp51, piaqt, hotmale, petard, z3n, wumply, Rex Mundi and GimieGimieGimie.
(I usually see these guys around)( I don't seem to see Thor, zErO, shadow_warez, MSNwar, uschie, biker666_05, Richard, harrytb, misskellibad1, veronica very often but they are in the top 2 pages of the top 2 posters)( Others in the top 3 pages of the top posters are those who post averagely at their leisure like me)
The others who still posts are those who ask questions which allow the trigger happy members to answer their questions with informative stuff and sometimes humourous replys like BB's.
And name I left out of this list? Do add in.
hotmale November 18th, 2004, 21:29 PM Did anyone actually reply to your post?
Cool forum though :D and its coolness starts from the topYes, I got 2 or 3 replies but still it ended up on the third page! The problem with that forum was that it had a lot of members but few sub-forums. For example, they had a computers forum but it wasn't divided into software, hardware... so all the posts went into one section.
piaqt November 19th, 2004, 00:20 AM And I agree with you too :D
Join the genius society!

For a genius, you hang out in some d-u-m-b places. Glad to see you've reformed. ;)

For a genius, you hang out in some d-u-m-b places. Glad to see you've reformed. ;)Thanks for the compliments :p
Tanglefoot November 20th, 2004, 12:28 PM Well I've been off-line for a while but that's been due to work. We're mad busy running up to xmas and after a 13hr day I'm knackered, even working weekend mornings to keep up. Could be others are in the same boat? Only problem being when you access site there's dozens of new threads (like this one) to peruse & catch up with. Such is life :D
piaqt November 20th, 2004, 16:02 PM Want some cheese to go with that whine? ;)
rik November 20th, 2004, 22:45 PM A nice Merlot perhaps?
;)
piaqt November 21st, 2004, 00:53 AM I'm not drinking any stinkin' Merlot! :D
Tanglefoot November 21st, 2004, 17:35 PM I should hope not. A nice grenache shiraz for preference surely. Sorry about the gripe, it's just that there's so much I'd rather be doing than concocting perfume (like relaxing with a nice whine [sic]). Back to topic, is there a gradual but steady influx of members (and postings) or does it fluctuate on a (monthly, seasonal, etc) basis?
Reverend November 21st, 2004, 17:45 PM Back to topic, is there a gradual but steady influx of members (and postings) or does it fluctuate on a (monthly, seasonal, etc) basis?
Its fairly steady throughout the year, although it does tend to slow down slightly in December and January.
Tanglefoot November 21st, 2004, 17:58 PM Now that in itself is a suprising statistic. All those new PC's at xmas you would think meant more people with problems that needed fixing. Perhaps it takes a while to gravitate online for info, most will phone supplier first I suppose.
piaqt November 21st, 2004, 18:11 PM there's so much I'd rather be doing than concocting perfume
So your job really does stink! ;)
Perhaps it takes a while to gravitate online for info, most will phone supplier first I suppose.
Or family member. It takes a while for noobs to realize a) Tech support doesn't know its ass from its elbow; and b) If they don't stop asking the family member (in my mother's case, me) the same dumb questions, murder will ensue.
Hence the need for forums -- keeps the homicide stats down.
Tanglefoot November 21st, 2004, 19:13 PM [QUOTE=piaqt]So your job really does stink! ;)
Ha. It certainly does. Keeps your personal hygene level up though, a shower after work is mandatory. If I went out to a bar without one I would attract a certain type of gentlemen wishing for a chat.

You work at a fish market ?
piaqt November 21st, 2004, 21:19 PM You work at a fish market ?
Worse -- he concocts perfume!
Tanglefoot November 21st, 2004, 21:38 PM The only upside to it is that Nicki gets whatever she want's me to copy - by the pint. And her mates...and theirs....etc. It's amazing how many people want to be your pal :D
piaqt November 21st, 2004, 23:31 PM The only upside to it is that Nicki gets whatever she want's me to copy - by the pint. And her mates...and theirs....etc. It's amazing how many people want to be your pal :D
Methinks they need to clear their sinuses.
rik November 22nd, 2004, 02:03 AM Tech support doesn't know its ass from its elbow
Exsqueeze me??
piaqt November 22nd, 2004, 15:39 PM Exsqueeze me??
You're excused. Just don't let it happen again. ;)
I was referring to "call up and wait til hell freezes" tech support. Not you, personally.
Big Booger November 22nd, 2004, 15:40 PM Exsqueeze me??
She's talking about the other 99.9% of tech support. :D
rik November 22nd, 2004, 16:19 PM :D
