View Full Version : Spyware (parasites) getting worst every day Dehcbad25 April 19th, 2004, 23:56 PM As a Network Administrator I have to deal all the time with users having spyware and such. But today, I visited a page with pop up windows and I have no clue as to how, but I got my browser hijacked. Anyhow, I was amused that I am pretty carefull and still one got installed in mine (Of course Ad aware got rid of it) egghead April 20th, 2004, 00:31 AM I hope you are using more than just ad-aware.... you need to run spybot as well as bazooka spyware scanner and you should use spysweeper. This is still not enough. You have update each programs definitions before scanning. I have found tons of crap the others forgot to notify me about. I have to put bazooka in there because it found 5 running programs after doing a full scan with ad-aware and spybot. Bazooka won't uninstall them but will bring up a webpage that explains how to. Dehcbad25 April 22nd, 2004, 07:53 AM Mywebsearch is the one that gives us trouble at work because we use Intranet and guess what? Stu^% Browser Hijacker tries to look for the page on the Internet. I got my Spyware problem fixed. I found the registry key it loaded in loops, so even if I disabled it it came back. I think I will post the setting tomorrow. Anyhow, I fixed it pretty good and I didn't need no extra program.
