OK, I had an old spare server running as my forest root server. That was all it did. Under that I have two child domains. Well, my root server died and I don't have a backup. My child domains are running fine at the moment. My thinking is to take each child and 'divorce' it from the forest and then join them to a new forest (I have a new server for the new root server). Can anyone give me some guidance on how to do this?
