My computer with windows xp (home) goes through the loading routine. All of a sudden my cursor will move freely, and then hangs up. Can't move it. Only way of getting out is to shut it off at the switch.
Is there anything I can do with the hung cursor?
I assume the system loads normally, just the cursor freezes? Sounds like something running in the background is causing this.
Run MSCONFIG from a cmd line. Turn off all startup apps and see if that helps. If so continue troubleshooting from there.
