Office 2003 Trial edition won't install

Downloaded the trial version (antivirus and firewall were turned off), but
when I run "office.exe", it appears to extract ok but then Windows Installer
pops up indicating "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the
patch package exists...etc". I've downloaded this twice but with the same
results. HELP?

Many thanks for your input...I discovered that parts of the old version of Office was still residing on my computer so I had to use Windows Installer CleanUp utility to delete it and then my download worked perfectly.
