Windows Update seems to be going mad

For at least the last 2 weeks, every time I turn on my PC I get told that "Security Update for WindowsXP (KB942830)" & "Security Update for WindowsXP (KB942831)" need to be downloaded. I always download them and my PC is set to install them on shutdown. But then next time, there they are again. Other updates have appeared and been installed without issue, so I'm thinking these two updates are a bit odd?

Any ideas?

Download them from the microsoft support site and install them manually. That might do the trick.

if that doesnt work you can stop the update and background intelligent transfer service then del the software distro folder in c:\windows...turn on the services again and hit the update site.
