SAN FRANCISCO (Dow Jones)--Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) on Tuesday announced...
I've been running it for a few months now, making my way up to the release candidate. So far so good. I've really noticed snappy performance on my SSD-drive laptop. I still get unresponsive-apps...
UAC prompts are good.
Vista-schmista. I like Windows-7.
Ya know... I remember saying the same thing when I went from Windows 2000 to XP..... :D
Yes. Copy the application to the 'Applications' folder. Then the app will be available for you whenever you want.
Yes. Unbox that mac of yours, update the OS, and then configure a bootcamp partition and load XP/Vista/Windows-7 on it.
Bootcamp. Google it or search for it at apple.com
I'm noticing a faster startup and less memory used overall. I'm also finding tweaks to the overall end-user experience eliminated a few annoyances with Vista.
Vista should called 'Windows-oops!'
1982? Were you outta diapers then? :D
Nope. One cluster of seven spread throughout the various Centers in the continental US that participate in a grid computing environment. If only I could...
I guess I shouldn't mention the 10-Xserve cluster we're running at work? http://img200.exs.cx/img200/7217/poke5ri.gif
I'm never good. :D
Bummer - not supported on Windows-7 (beta).

I have two macs: a macbook pro and a macbook air.
Both Safari and Firefox are fine. I use Firefox as my primary browser.
I'm running Windows-7 on a VM - it seems to run well.
I'm running McAfee AV v8.7 (Enterprise Edition). It works well.
And why is cricket so fascinating?
Windows Defender comes with it (preinstalled). When I downloaded Firefox, Windows told me it was scanning it for viruses. So something must be there. I'm going to try AVG today.
How to get the Windows-7 Beta Product Key:
Step 1: Log onto [technet.microsoft.com] by clicking on "Sign in" in the upper right corner with your Microsoft Passport ID. (i.e.: Hotmail, etc.)
...
If there's no key then you get the 30-day eval which you can "re-arm" for another 30, 3 times. (120 days)
And then they're the "Key" issue....
Done! 2.44 Gigs.
I love you. I'm at 12% now....
We'll soon see. It all starts noon PST (3:00pm Eastern US Time). And there's always the torrent sites.
