Crap Cleaner is a good program to clear all the hotfixes uninstallation files if you want. http://www.ccleaner.com
Just for the benefit of archiving info:
I just had the same problem of flickering LCD screen on my Dell 8300. I interchanged it with the Fujitsu LCD from the old Gateway and no problem there. So...
Nice! The new interface may need getting used to all over again but can't wait for it come out!
Another thing, is it RAM hungry?
hmm... I seldom even use the left pane. But after seeing the pane there for so damned long. It feels weird to not have it there.
Alot of programs are written for Windows. It has become a vicious cycle. Since windows is used by such a large number of people. It makes sense to write programs for Windows. Since so many programs...
This is becasue Windows needs the MB drivers to recognise and fully use your MB. Without the driver, smartgart dosen't know what's your AGP bus speed and so sets it to 0 for anti-crashing reasons....
Hmm, and 80 GB was more than enough for a home computer 5 years ago!
What about restore points? That takes up lots of space too. Try clearing it.
For WMP 8 codecs no wonder! I believe that the site (WMP Microsoft site) dosen't even have those old codecs and WMP 10 is not integrating the old codecs from WMP 8 so that gives the error.
Hmm, from what I know, WMP has a horrendous lack of codecs, it can't for anything, download codecs and the so-called Windows Media Player website has barely any codecs. Try looking for codecs from...
You'll have to manually get them from the website as in BB's post : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Yes. Useful, very useful although I do already know some of the tips.
Hmm, yes. Newer graphics drivers, even sound card drivers are known to have conflicts with older motherboard chip set drivers. Take my old gateway for example. Once in a while, it will just hang like...
I thought otherwise. MS isn't the type who would suddenly pop a Service Pack without very good reasons such as large OS loopholes.
Maybe you need a computer clean-up. Eg. defrag, crap deletion...
CCleaner is a good program for this. http://www.ccleaner.com
Even for a crap deleting freak like me, I was surprised it could...
Of course! It'll mess up the registry and XP will crash since it directs the OS to take files from that drive letter which won't be there if the system volume drive letter has been changed.
I truly agree. That adds to my list of programs that need caution including the registry, system32 folder, services...
Always ensure you have back-up ready of there is so a need to reformatt due...
vBulletin is the way to go! At least for me. I like how its interface is so easy to use. For the leased lisence you can only use your vB for one year and thats it. For the owned lisence, you get it...
Actually, it is not very difficult. You can just pop the old drive out easily and replace it.
We've set up a new website in place of SGGaming.NET called AuxGaming. We wanted a new name to move out of the local SG community and into the world so we needed a global name. We decided on Auxgaming...
Go to Network Connections then right click on the LAN click properties. Then look for the check box at the bottom of the window which says "Show icon in notification area when connected" Uncheck...
The bar of colours are not entirely accurate. The blue files that are isolated though they look small on the diagram, may be larger than you think. I believe that as long as the file is not...
At least yours is stuck open. Mine one was stuck CLOSED! I could not read any CDs or DVDs until I got my DVD-burner, I called the DELL technicians and they replaced it with a new one just yesterday.
What do you mean? Old Hard Disks have no method of returning the auctuator arm to the landing track. When power is cut, the platters spin down and the read write heads will just crash onto the...
I think you need to configure the jumpers on your drives to its specific position or better still, cable select which automatically lets your BIOS detect the master and slave.
