Windows is starting up,, but it's not!!
I posted on the Customize XP forum, about getting rid of the "user logon" and "welcome" screens and the good Reverend gave me advice on how to
Go to Start > Run,and type control userpasswords2 and hit enter
Uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and click Ok.
which I did, however, Windows asked me, once I did this, for a username and password which I did not fill in but just left the fields blank and hit enter.
Now when I start up windows I get as far as the "Windows is starting up.." screen and then nothing. The mouse cursor still moves, but that screen stays up forever. Just prior to that screen I get a another screen which flashes on for a second, it looks like a user password screen.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Engineer
