Question Idiot in need of help!

I'm going to get it out of the way that I am probably the dumbest person on this board; especially when it comes to computers. Honestly I am more of a computer abuser and dare not suggest that I am a user

I have found a lot of helpful information on this site already, which prompted me to sign up. That and you have to register to post and I have a valid (or for this moron what seems to be valid) question.

I have a few STRANGE looking executables that I cannot see. I have stopped their running from start up (after using information found on this board, ty for the msconfig hint). I would like to remove them completely. I have been able to see where they are, some attached to Windows but still cannot see them and yes I've made sure to check the properties to "Show hidden file locations."

Anyone want to help a newbie idiot?

    Welcome to TZ.

In Tools > Folder Options. On the View tab make sure "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" is unchecked. When you uncheck it you'll get a warning message, ignore it and click Yes.

Which files are you trying to remove ??

    TY Rev,

    Programs:

    Xzgx9V5
    nssys32
    hotr

There is another that is related to the "X" exe. but only see it upon startup. I thought there was a control/function trick upon startup that also brought these into view

I will uncheck the box to view os files right now.

    Thanks again,

    Sean

nssys32 is a Virus/Trojan. Try to remove it with the removal tool available here:

    http://www.2-spyware.com/file-nssys32-exe.html

For added safety, I recommend downloading Spybot:

    http://beam.to/spybotsd

Also update your anti-virus program and do a complete scan of your hard drives.

TY Egghead and Conan (again) I will follow all instructions to the T. Hopefully this will rid me of my issues. I hate being infected, @ least w/ our bodies it's easy just to go and get a shot from the doctor. It could be a lot worse but still; thanks for the advice.

Do you even use an Anti virus? If you don't I recommend Avast - www.avast.com or AVG - www.grisoft.com
