    re: wireless and protection

    what are the best or recommended cautionary procedures one should use when using the laptop either at home or at hot spots?

    i have never seen a checklist.

    and anti-virus...as always ensure that the AV is updated as wel as Windows being updated.

    firewall i got- stealthed.

    av- i got- naughty norton's.

    windows is definitely updated.

    then what is the big deal??? i get the impression if there is someone near you they can "read" (sniffer software ?? ) what you send.

    thanks for the info.. there were recent two articles in the ny times about the wireless- not so alarming.
