Quickest way to encode from line-in?
I've been messing around with a usb radio from d-link, quite strange little radio reciever, and wanted to try and use it in some way to stream radio to local networked computers, thing is, does anyone know the quickest way to encode from using the line-in as mp3's leave a dodgy 10 seconds lag when encoding.

That product seems to do the encoding and streaming in real time though I must say I've never used it before. I use to use shoutcast to stream files over my home LAN and internet.
And setup with line-in:

Thanks Big Bro, checked out the links and didn't even realise SimpleCast existed, although I think with the mass use of mp3's it's not too surprising. Anywho, will have to give it a go, although because i haven't been able to find anything to suite what I'm after i've decided to try and create a similar thing to SimpleCast although the aim it to try and be more flexable and listen to any port on the soundcard, use almost any encoder to encode and more choice over streaming settings. I'll have to post it on TZ , in a few months time.
