They don't accept messages from Yahoo Groups.

    sgies

well that's perhaps their ONLY flaw... with pop3 access and no ads besides an excellent service the no yahoo groups messages barely bother one at all...
i'm surprised no one's heard of them....

    Thumbs down the end result

well it turns out that sgies is no more. packed and run away. the sent me an email yesterday, saying very casually that sgies had been made a private service and therefore the website was removed, all in the interest of the users and when i check my email today it says:

The host 'mail.sgies.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'SGIES', Server: 'mail.sgies.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

    so much for that.

There's an Arabic site called Maktoob. Although it's an Arabic site, you can view everything in English if you want to. 1GB storage and they also have different skins plus a free service which can let you retrieve e-mails from a hotmail account. Here's a thread I recently started about it:

However, I'm not sure whether it'll meet your expectations or not coz I myself like Hotmail (no blood relation BTW ) and I think the 250MB we'll be getting soon is more than enough.

It's better to use your ISP's SMTP settings instead of Spymac's.
