ATI Radeon Omega Drivers v2.5.67 (based on Catalyst 4.8)

New Radeon Omega Drivers v2.5.67 ready!

The Omega Drivers for Windows 2k/XP based on the Catalyst 4.8 are ready, go get them in the ATI Radeon section. Make sure to see the readme for important details and changes.

Also, please read and follow the instructions that are shown during the installation process, many people just keep selecting "Next" without even reading and then they start to E-Mail me because something went wrong or because the drivers are not working properly.

    Enjoy!

As I'll be getting my ATi Radeon 9600XT pretty soon , I'd like to ask which is better: the Catalyst drivers or Omega. I know one's based on the other but what's the difference?

    Changes:
    * Based on the official Catalyst 4.8 drivers.
    * Added support for some new Radeon cards.
    * Fixed a few laptop bugs (but still unsure about the video playback problem).
    * Optimized the current OGL driver for D3, it should improve performance with no loss in quality.
    * Optimized FSAA performance for both D3D and OGL.
    * Updated Radlinker to version 1.013
    * Updated ATITool to version 0.0.21
    * Updated Multires to version 1.47
    * Updated the DX Control Panel to Dx9.0c

So does this mean the Omega drivers are better?

The Omega drivers are usually tweak for better gaming (IQ) with less emphasis on benchmark performance. Sometimes they even benchmark better or the same as regular Cat's but....???

I always liked the Omega drivers

OK, thanks! Guess I'll go for the Omega drivers. But is the difference clear?
