If you prefer not run a scandisk every time your system crashes then you'll love today's tip. First load up regedit (Start -> Run then type regedit and press ok) and follow this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> System -> CurrentControlSet -> Control -> Session Manager. Fromm there find the BootExecute multistring value and delete it.

Once that's done your system will no longer run CHKDSK when you boot your system. When booting you might briefly see a light blue screen saying BootExecute is missing, but simply disregard it. If you find that you'd prefer to have CHKDSK run, simply enter create a multistring value with the name BootExecute, enter this in its value autocheck autochk * and save.
