    What if safemode fails just like everything else? Last time i screwed up windows, safe mode sure didnt boot. No one, not me, is bothered enough to make emergency start up diskettes and a full backup of the harddrive. Kinda leaves the only option left, which is to reinstall windows.

    There are those cases. But safemode can save you a lot of time if you can use it (as long as your OS isn't completely crashed )
