Creature Evolution Programs: Where are they?

I am looking for either some software or a game, that will allow me to grow/manipulate/evolve a species of any kind of creature and allow that species to reproduce/mutate/etc.. and continue on and on an on indefinitely.

Is there anything out there that supports this. I am currently reading a book by Kevin Kelly of WIRED, called Out of Control: The New Biology of Machines, Social Systems and the Economic World.

    Kevin Kelly's Book

It has been a really good read and has got me somewhat curious in artificial intelligence and evolution. He mentions several programs in the book, but as it was written over 10 years ago they are quite dated:

I found 3 of the ones he mentioned on that page, but the links are dead. I am looking for something more updated than those. Preferably something with a GUI.

    Anyone know of anything?

Nice finds. I like the gene pool one. Very interesting.
