    stupid question- re the euro symbol

    being in usa, how do i acquire/use the Euro symbol on a xp system?

    i am sure this is a dumb question for many of you since you all aint from the $ country.

    Move over here,and use the UK keyboard langauge.

    Try one of these:

    AltGr+5 (If your keyboard doesn't have an AltGr key, use the right hand Alt key)

    or

    Alt+0128 (hold down the Alt key and type 0128 on the numeric keypad)

    thanks rev,
    now i have to figure out how to use the numeric keyboard on a laptop

    i see Fn and F11 and i discovered numbers 0123456 but where is 789?
    hmmm i see, 789 ...

    and so -€ € €

    Try "Alt-Ctrl-e" in ms word.

    alt ctrl e works just fine.

    and thanks for the quinnware suggestion- i will check it out later.

    Yeah well other shortcuts go by trial and error. Pressing alt and on the numpad three digits gives a variety of different letters and symbols.

    Just noticed that in linux these shortcuts dont work...dang
