    Sound Blaster Audigy 2/ZS Driver 5.12.05.522, Drivers and DRM

    A new set of Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Series Drivers 5.12.05.522 WHQL! Dated 29/10/2004 were released plus Creative have released a Digital Rights Management version 1.84.0055 for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series audio devices.

    This web update combines the features and fixes of three previous updates:

    # Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS Driver Update (released on 29 July, 2004)
    # EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Patch Update for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS (released on 29 March, 2004)
    # EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Update for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS (released on 19 November, 2003).


    In addition, this update adds Digital Rights Management (DRM) support for Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series internal audio devices.

    Added Features or Enhancements:

    # Enables Digital Rights Management support.
    # Features and enhancements provided by the above three updates.

    Digital Rights Management 1.84.0055 for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series audio devices

    # Sound blaster Audigy 2 LS version 5.12.05.0522 whql, but functioning without problem with Audigy 2 Series.

    # Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 & Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

    thanks for the links BB. I bought one of those a few months back...big bucks but great card. I have a setup for copying vinyl to cd and this was my card of choice.

    Since they are WHQL they should be available via Windows Update, right?

    That's the rumor, but who knows. They are installed on my SBLIVE! Platinum card. Works great.

    Screw that DRM crap. Just install them manually.

    I agree and except for the DRM these are the same old drivers that have been out for awhile.

    Reason I ask is that I will finally be able to install Windows from scratch and not have to mess around with driver discs!

    With my Audigy 2, you can't even download the drivers from the web without first needing the CD!

    Yah, I wonder what they want to do with DRM (Digital rights management) update. I have all the previous drivers they have so I will NOT update. Your thoughts?

    I think if you need or want DRM then update other than that seems pointless, same old drivers
