No electrons harmed in site design?!

No electrons were harmed in the creation of this web site.
I saw this at the bottom of Fred Langa's site: http://www.langa.com/ What does it mean? I was going to ask the webmaster but as I'm already here, does anyone have a guess?

    Its just an "eco" joke.

the full version that i've seen some people use in their sigs on other boards is:

No electrons were harmed during the creation, transmission
or reading of this posting. However, many were excited and
some may have enjoyed the experience.

A lot of sites use them as a joke in their Disclaimers as well.

    And some more:

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

This page is composed of 75% recycled web pages. No electrons were harmed in its creation.

Trees are killed/harvested to make paper so you can read text or whatever. To view the website requires electrons but they are not harmed in the way a tree is.

This site was created with Dolphin friendly electrons, and uses 100% recycled hard drive space.
No animals were harmed during the creation or testing of this web site.

No animals were harmed in the creation of these pages and a minimum of Microsoft software was used. Those of you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown will be gratified to learn that there is no hidden message revealed by reading this warning backwards.
