    DVD-ROM split into two drives???

Not sure why, but Windows XP has my customer's DVD-ROM split into two seperate drives. One marked as a DVD-ROM f: the other marked as a CD-ROM g:, has anyone had this happen? There are only two in the bios, but three are showing in the device manager. Shows it as a scsi device and there are none present. Remove it and it comes back. Any ideas????

    Thanks,
    Sharon

if you dont have any scsi ports on your mobo that probably means that that cd drive is a virtual drive. If you have had any cd emulation software or alcohol 120% this is probably a remnant. If you have then you have to reinstall the program and disable all the drives created by the program and then uninstall. Or go into device manager and right click on the drive and uninstall.

    Yep, it's Alcohol!

Hey thanks! You know, my husband uses Alcohol 120% and is loading this computer. Neither of us ever noticed that since installing alcohol on our own computer, our drives are the same way.

Thanks again! Now we can deliver this thing!
