    can I use my heat sink and fan on my new setup?

    just got a amd 64 3400 chip and board

    can I use my heat sink and fan from my old setup that was a amd 2500

    would that be a wise idea or will it overheat?

    cant find old box to see what it can take? any help please?

    are you buying a new bare CPU why not retail? I think most people would recommend upgrading HSF when getting newer and more powerful CPU... especially with AMD they get very hot!!

    well just opened the box, old one aint fitting on new board, looks..... well... a lot bigger
    sent off for a Akasa AK862 to put on it

    gonna have to wait even longer till get PC back now!!!

    O well give me time to sort old one out for dad

    dont forget bigger isnt always better... new ones are better design, more efficient and use better materials
