what is a good virtual desktop software?

    Hey guys!

Just wondering if anyone used the powertool virtual desktop and wondered if you tried any of the products out there?

I hear some will create independant icons and can each be configured to start their own applications.

Anyone know of any that are user friendly?

    hanks

(virtual desktops are like having multi computers doing multithings and switching between then)

I've used the MS Powertoy one but if I'm not mistaken it's more of just a "Which background do you want today?" kinda thing.

Does Virtual PC and VMware Workstation count?
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Nope, they are actual computer emulators. I am looking for virtual desktops.
rik, the thing about powertools is that you cannot have different backgrounds or icons on each desktop.

    But it is very good

You can have one desktop with work stuff.

Another desktop wit email and techzonez.
Another desktop connecting to remote computers.

    No clutter
    very cool

I have used the Nvidia and Ati multi-desk progs... they are pretty good, but I dont see the major advantage of using such a setup compared to either a 2or3 monitor setup?
