Freaking Out
Hi,
Must have done something really "Dumb", for some reasons , I have deleted some of my system Files, and i cannot Boot-up my XP. I do NOt have a Recovery Disk, cause it is in my Partition D:\
Everytime XP boots up, it gves me this Error Mesage:
Missing or corrupted File
<Root Window >\system32\hal.dll
Please copy the missing file
Before re-installing XP, anything I can do ??
Windows XP Home
512 Mb Ram
PLEASE HELP, THASNK YOU!

if you have the xp cd. you can copy the hal.dll back in. or download the floppies from somewhere like bootdisk.com. the HAL.dll is for xp to recognize your hardware. the hal checks your system right before it hands it over to the OS on boot up.

why I remember that is beyond me.
