"they don't make 'em like they used to"

Good 'ol IBM keyboard - solid I tell 'ya - still using 'em.

I don't know much about some of the new keyboards you guys are using. But I can throw this IBM keyboard against the wall or floor and it refuses to break. Take a look at my old (new) Sony keyboard. It's not that old but it's looks like it's been through hell.

Affixing stickers for letters only lasts a few weeks

It's not what you think. I do trim my nails.

Now take a look at IBM's - as old as AT-XT itself - yet letters/keys are not worn as much:

I am happy to report though that most/many accessories have been improved:

yes this is my mouse and it's great. I never run out of space. It's like rolling a cue ball (on my lap) with my fingers on a cushion of air.

wow what the hell happened to that keyboard. did it get run over by a lawn mower or something?

i have the same mouse on my new/good computer. the trackball explorer is good for everything games, art, flash, etc. I especially like it because you dont use your thumb to move the ball.

hehe, because there are about 3 of us here that use a trackball and swear by it. The others will ridicule us for not using a real mouse. Many are equipped with laser mice and will attack at the slightest deviation.

You've got to love techzonez. It's fun here at times.

ya well there is a hidden cache of people who swear by this particular mouse like ourselves.

of coarse they are all my friends but, i would not have heard about this mouse otherwise

anyway bring on the ridicule. it is just a mouse and the ability to use a mouse, and what kind of mouse people prefer, is nothing compaired to the ability to make and use a fully functional computer in 1 hour. Or the ability to setup a massive network with a several servers, and be able to troubleshoot it without help.

Well, it's not really ridicule. Techzonians* just like to fun at each other. It can get rather "hysterically" funny at times. There have been times where I, literally, almost fell off my chair laughing so hard.

My keyboard and mouse are by logitech and both are wireless.

I don't think it matters though, I just thought it looked cool...

we should take a poll, like what kind of mice do people prefer, trackball, regular old ball, laser, and any other kind that can be thought of

Come on, it wouldn't be fair. It's like saying, "Let's do a poll, what kind of car would people want, a Ferrari (laser mouse), or a Pinto (Trackball/oldball)?"

Anyone who likes the trackball, old ball... whatever , and would vote as "prefering" it, probably never used a laser mouse. Let's be real, laser mouse is the way to go... but if you're stuck with an old school trackball whatever mouse, then of course you'll be down with it.

many people i know including myself have used laser mice in the past and prefer trackballs. well, the trackball explorer, the trackballs that have the ball placed at the thumb are bad.

and, techzonez has a lot of members now and i realize the majority would be laser mice, but there have to be more than 4 people who use trackballs.

the trackballs are more usefull than you think. my desk has very little room and a regular mouse would be very uncomfortable, it would inhibbit my ablity to use my computer. so i use a trackball. trackballs also (i am still thinking of laser trackballs, not the old mechanical ones) are very accurate. i kick ass when i play cs or any other game, at LAN parties.

Trackballs are the work of the Devil.
I'm using Windows 7 - you got a problem with that?
