Problems with the Windows sounds
Hi people! Since a few months, it seems that my Windows regular sounds had just disappears.
Exemple : Windows startup : no sounds
Msn messengers : No alert sounds
Empty the trash can : Just a bip from the motherboard speaker
I have looked at the sounds settings in control panel, they're all on ! Volume controls : all on !
By any chances, Does someone have an idea on this ?

have u tried playing anything, like a cd or your media player?....do you get sound then....have u checked your hardware to see if the sound card is showing any conflict symbols....it may be a driver issue. What OS are u running?

I can play all other sounds : Games, cds , Net, etc... .
I've updated to the latest driver possible for my sound card yesterday after a Win2K repair.
Card says that driver is working properly.
What i have is Win2k with sound card Soundblaster live.
