70 MPG Diesel car
DaimlerChrysler showed off a 4 passanger car that gets 70 MPG. You can read more about it here. I guess its still a concept car though...

Why don't they put these cars on the market? I don't get it??? Gas is at an all time high... they should do more to curb pollution... and they tempt us with concept cars...
Hydrogen will be the ultimate way to go... but without governmental intervention it will never happen. Governments the world over need to take a more aggressive stance against our addiction to petrol and force the shift to alternate energies... a 500% increase in petrol taxes would do the trick I think.

I think the problems must be manufacturing. This looks like a very umm...unique car, I doubt they have any machines in place to produce it in mass numbers. Isn't that how they save money? Make a ton of parts and just put them on a few different cars? (Ford Taurus = Mercury Sable, and tons of other examples..)
