    my laptop is not connecting to the network

    hi

    ill keep it brief but any info needed gimme a shout

    my work laptop is not connecting to my network and is not showing a valid ip address when auto detect is on but is connecting to the netgear router when i manaully but not to the network.

    any help guys

    Most likely a spyware/adware infection many of them bugger about with the tcp/ip settings or add an extra layer in the protocols. Try using a static address and running an antispy app like trend micro antispyware.
    I'm using Windows 7 - you got a problem with that?

    a firewall can sometimes do the very same thing that Curio is talking about.
