Spread Firefox is Back!
There are many new and innovative facilities coming to Spread Firefox soon; The SFX+ community team have been working closely with Mozilla Foundation over the last three months to develop a new set of member collaboration tools that will enable us to take Firefox community marketing to the “next level” and in doing so continue to lead the way with our ground breaking achievements.
We look forward to phasing in major Spread Firefox development over the coming months and pledge our renewed commitment to the community to ensure that together we can continue to achieve great things for Firefox.
One of the major new features currently being developed for Spread Firefox is a collection of project management tools, where members will be able to initiate and build their own project teams. We are also committed to language localisation for Spread Firefox. We are about to go “International” and expand the facilities for non-English speaking cultures to recognise the fantastic contributions we have from members all around the World.
Get ready for new localised official buttons, and smart banners and iframe webpage inserts. We are planning some cool competitions too, plus we will be announcing a Spread Firefox moderator recruitment program to cope with the expanded dimensions of the site!
In the short term, we’ve focussed on getting the site back up and running as quickly as we can and we have invested time and money to create a brand new server infrastructure and we have re-built Spread Firefox from scratch upon a pure Drupal code base. We wanted to introduce a few “bells and whistles” for you to make using the site easier and quicker and the first and most obvious is that posting to the site is now easier -- you don’t have to hand code HTML anymore, instead simply use the rich text editor while authoring. The rich text editor enables you to set up external links, images, and more, without needing and HTML experience.
I'd like to extend a huge thanks to Ian Hayward and his team of developers at Glaxstar for an amazing effort to bring this site back up and to get the infrastructure in place for some major improvements over the next couple of months.
