I have a Panasonic VHS/DVD recorder/player that on the back there is a "jack" for what the manual says "external decoder". But, the company says there is none available at "this time". Is that what you are refering to?

    This on eats everything http://asono.com/?language=EN.

You can burn avis, mp3s or whatever on CD or DVD and it'll handle it. A friend of mine has one, and is very happy with it. Good image quality, sound quality is okay.

if you convert your movie to vcd and use dvd author to create the menu's you can half many movies on one dvd.

700mb usually is 80 minute movie
