Have you defragged lately? Are you using the NTFS file system? Do you have file encryption enabled? How is your ram usage? How fast is your hard drive? Is your hard drive in PIO or DMA mode?

To go along with that, are you connected to a home network? Also, check your event viewer to see what kind of errors your getting. (Right click my computer, manage, event viewer) Check by application and system logs for any errors that reoccur alot.

Well maybe its not a clean un-install

Clear your error log and see if it still reports.

See if anything from this link: http://eventid.net/display.asp?event...System&phase=1 pertains to your "EventSystem" errors. Or here: http://eventid.net/display.asp?event...0Error&phase=1 for the Application errors.
And here: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?e...System&phase=1 for the last one.

The first link indicates possible issues due to MSN 7.1. Do you have that installed?

Not at all, I installed WoW, but now it's uninstalled, because I tought that was the cause, but nope, I really don't know what the cause is.
My DEP is set to to run for essential windows programs and service only.
I don't know if that helps?...

    But, it started this week...

    Windows Image Acquisition
Stop the WIA service. To do so, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
    3. Double-click Component Services.
    4. Click Services.
    5. In the Services (Local) list, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA), and then click Stop.
I helped Lankan_man get it sorted. It was the Windows Image Acquisition that was slowing down his programs.
