    2-way internet in rural USA

    Hey...Merry Christmas FastGame

I thought you might like to read about the advancements made with satellite internet. It is now possible to do it up and down without a phone line

    http://www.direcway.com

    What is DIRECWAY?

DIRECWAY® is the high-speed Internet solution that's available to everyone in the contiguous U.S. with a clear view of the southern sky. DIRECWAY uses satellite technology to give you a super-fast, always-on Internet connection—so you can enjoy the Internet the way it was meant to be. DIRECWAY gets you online instantly, lets you surf and open pages faster and download files in a fraction of the time it takes a dial-up modem.

    How does it work?

DIRECWAY delivers high-speed Internet over satellite—not over your telephone line—so you can surf and talk at the same time. A certified DIRECWAY installer will connect your computer to a satellite modem and link it to a satellite dish (antenna) that’s typically mounted on the roof of your home. The satellite dish sends and receives information (i.e., email, Web pages, files) over the Internet and delivers it your computer almost instantly!

Introducing the next generation of DIRECWAY® equipment:

The DIRECWAY DW7000 modem — designed to deliver higher speeds and improved performance for all DIRECWAY service plans. The DW7000 receives and transmits data over the satellite through the DIRECWAY network. The DW7000 is compatible with Windows® and Macintosh® operating systems, and connects effortlessly with your computer via simple Ethernet connection.

Let’s take a look at the features of the DW7000:

    * Compatibility with Windows and Macintosh computers
    * Self hosting / no software to load — automatically upgrades software when new versions become available
    * No phone line needed — uses two-way satellite communication for setup and operation
    * Ethernet connection — provides easy connection to your computer or home network
