    Apart from restarting in safe mode yes this is what I did.

    Thanks but this does not fix the user32.ll error... it fixes the previous error i had which was similar error but referred to GD132 i believe,

    Have you tried sfc /scannow from the Run box. (remember to leave a space between sfc and the forward slash.)
