If all else fails, try a clean re-install.
Delete the Mozilla folder from Program Files the user's Application Data folder (path may be similar to: C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Application Data\Mozilla). Then reboot and re-install fx.

I have noticed that several pages when using FF 1.5 give a customized error message. Anyone else getting this? If it happens again I'll try to post an image.
