You need your AV real time protection set so that includes all graphics formats in order for AV protection to help with this one. Some AV systems that include a web filter like Nod32 should pick it up anyway but check your AV system. The recomended method of avoiding problems and not disabling the image viewing part of Windows is to install the latest version of IESpyAD which will add all the known dodgy domains to the Restricted Sites for IE - this however will not help for other browsers and email clients. Be careful with graphics files until MS patch the dodgy image rendering engine.
I'm using Windows 7 - you got a problem with that?

I need a better AV... using old Norton Internet Security 2002 and XP SP1 with a couple critical patches!

The av definitions are stuck on 18th Jan 2006, and wont update anymore with manual installation. Time for reformat, and hopefully and upgrade to Broadband internet to download all the MS patches
