    Cant play 3D games

I was wondering if anyone had the problem of playing 3D games with the ati mobility driver.

    Heres my problem-
I will try to play a 3D game (most recently black and white 2) and an error message will apear telling me that the file ati2dvag has stopped working properly and i will need to restart my computer. I have also had my computer screen turn blue, or turn into black and white checks.

does any one else have this problem, or a possible fix to this problem?
Computers will never take the place of books. You can't stand on a floppy disk to reach a high shelf.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Thats a sign of to much heat or the video card is starting to fail.

Remove the ATI drivers though Add & Remove, then use DriverCleaner

    Install new ATI drivers.

Install the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard, post the make & model of your laptop if you need help finding the drivers.

no when i try to reinstall my original driver it says-
INF error video driver not found
then after clicking ok it says
Setup was unable to complete the instalation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver befor running setup
then i click ok and the setup just closes

anyone know what this means or how to fix it

IMO your problem is because either the PCI to AGP-GART driver are corrupt or missing.

We could go through a long winded way of fixing this through Device Manager, or short & fast way by reinstalling the chipset drivers.....

    "make & model" ?

    Go to this page:

    http://www.nec-online.com.sg/Support...Main.asp?CID=2

Click on Product Support and input the model of your laptop, then a page with all the drivers will be displayed. They aren't updated though, they are the original driver package it seems.

    still not working
So whats it doing now ? the same thing or something else ?

Go into Device manager and click on "Display adapters", right click and choose uninstall, then reboot. If it can't find the v-card or you can't install drivers then do whats listed below.

Recovery CD for the PC ??? do you have it ? backup your important data and reinstall everything. If that doesn't work and you still get "computer screen turn blue, or turn into black and white checks." you need to look at getting a new video card.
